WHERE THE TRAUMA STARTED

Growing up, Sam experienced abuse, being in care, homelessness, prison and a challenging education system. Despite this, he grew his first business from the boot of a car into a thriving, successful domestic and commercial cleaning company.

Sam has won many local and regional awards through the Princes Trust and Shell LiveWIRE, an online community for young entrepreneurs. Using his own lived experience to empower minds and transforming lives through education, entrepreneurship, and social justice.

Sam’s life story is one of extraordinary triumph over harrowing adversity having faced the tragic loss of finding his only brother lying dead through a heroin overdose navigating a turbulent upbringing in a broken family environment, he emerged from a childhood marked by hardships, substance abuse, gangs, drugs, crime, and personal struggles and homelessness providing a glimpse of hope to his audience.

Beyond sharing his own personal struggles, of being rejected by the education, social services, prison, probation and the youth justice system. Sam talks about the toxic relationships, from birth, that contributed to his trauma, making his speeches relatable for many young people who are facing a life’s challenges.

Sam’s journey is a testament to the power of determination and self-belief and hope. From a turbulent past that included encounters with the police placed in to care the care of the local authority at 13. Received is first spell in Youth Custody aged 15, 7 days after being released he was back in the same place couldn’t break the cycle it was a revolving door. Dark periods spent in prisons across the UK in the midst of the 1990s Strangways Prison riot thought he was going to burn alive he transcended these challenges. He discovered the resilience to rebuild his life, transforming his future by taking charge of his own destiny.

Sam’s keynote speeches underscore the importance of prevention and intervention, and the need for a comprehensive entrepreneurship education programme in schools and the prisons service. Sam’s dedicated is adult life to making direct positive impacts, unlocking inner potential, helping to educate and transforming the lives of hundreds of individuals and counting.
