We’re Not Waiting for the Future. We’re Building It!

Youth Week 2026 | 2–6 November
This Youth Week, Genuine Futures CIC is celebrating the potential of young people across Bolton while sharing exciting developments creating new pathways into employment, education, enterprise and community life.
Behind the scenes, new partnerships are forming, ideas are becoming reality and young people are taking positive steps towards their futures.
Our message is simple: we’re not waiting for opportunities to appear. We’re helping young people create them.
Finding My Future. Boss Your Future. Building Confidence.
Through Finding My Future and Boss Your Future, we support young people to discover their strengths, build confidence, develop practical skills and explore what comes next. For some that means employment or education. For others it’s about rebuilding trust, finding belonging or discovering a new interest. Our approach starts with relationships, not labels.
Introducing Live Local Trust Local
This Youth Week marks an exciting new chapter with Live Local Trust Local, a youth-focused enterprise connecting local businesses, services, charities and communities while creating meaningful work experience. Young people will develop skills in digital marketing, social media, content creation, business research and local storytelling. They won’t simply learn about enterprise: they’ll help build one.
Bolton Businesses: Be One of the Founding 100!
We’re inviting 100 Bolton businesses to be among the first to join Live Local Trust Local. This is an opportunity to increase local visibility, connect with customers and support a community initiative that creates opportunities for the next generation.

Bolton NEET Taskforce: Working Together for Change
Our Bolton NEET Taskforce brings together young people, employers, community organisations and local partners to address barriers to opportunity. We believe prevention is more effective than waiting for crisis. That means listening earlier, working together and creating trusted relationships and practical pathways forward.
A Message from Our Founder
‘There’s been so much happening behind the scenes, but what matters most to me is seeing young people begin to believe in themselves. Not every young person has had the same opportunities in life. But when we listen, build trust and give young people real opportunities, things can start to change. This Youth Week, I want to celebrate their potential and encourage more businesses and organisations to open their doors. We’re not waiting for the future. We’re building it together.’
— Sam Smith, Founder and Co-Director, Genuine Futures CIC
