Sparks of Success: Young People Taking Responsibility & Winning Big!

Boss Your Future – What a Week!
Last week’s Genuine Futures Boss Your Future Programme, in partnership with Entrepreneurs Unlocked and Recycle IT, took place down at the Digi Den, with the focus on Personal Responsibility and Being Your Own Boss.
Our young people were handed £20 in fake money and challenged to create a business – then came the game-changing moment… when that fake money turned into real cash – proving that ideas, skills, and determination can truly pay off when you take responsibility for your actions.
We saw businesses spring to life – from journalists, cheesecake makers, sweet & treat sellers, artists, and car cleaners, the creativity and ambition on display were unreal! Now, each young person has £20 real money to invest, and we can’t wait to see how wisely they grow their ventures.
One of the highlights of the week was meeting little Oscar, aged 5, who confidently joined in the programme and showed us all that it’s never too early to start dreaming big. Could this be the start of a Genuine Futures Mini Entrepreneurs Club? How old do you really need to be to begin your journey as an entrepreneur?
To finish an inspiring week, we hit Crazy Karting in Halliwell – a thrilling session full of slipping, sliding, and plenty of laughter, followed by a competitive game of killer pool, with Paula and Alex taking home the winners’ pot
Last week was a powerful reminder that when young people are given the right opportunities, support, and the space to take ownership of their future, incredible things can happen. They are proving that personal responsibility and self-belief are the real keys to success.
