An inspiring display of community spirit and collaboration, local businesses in Preston have come together to support Genuine Futures Community Interest Company (CIC) in their commendable efforts to assist young people facing challenges. The “Big Charity Pop Up Car Wash” held at BizSpace Technology Centre, Marsh Lane on Thursday 25th April not only cleaned up cars but also showcased the powerful impact of collective community efforts.

The event kicked off with an overwhelming sense of camaraderie as locals businesses joined hands with Genuine Futures CIC.  Each car washed added to the spirit of the day, with the local business community coming out in full force to support the initiative. The positive atmosphere was palpable, with every participant contributing to a cause that promises to reshape the futures of many young lives.

“On the day, we had a queue of people wanting their cars cleaned and donating along the way. Our cars were looked after and sparkly clean” said Kirstie McClelland, the BizSpace Centre Manager. “You should get involved as you have the opportunity to help a young life learn about taking care of peoples property, speaking to people, and learning work ethics. Everyone deserves a chance in life.”

“The feedback from the event has been incredibly positive. The business community not only supports our vision but is actively helping us drive change,” said Mike Alleyne, Director at Genuine Futures CIC. “This event is just the beginning. Together,  we are laying down the strategic foundations to expand our reach and deepen our impact. We’re here to make a real difference, to change lives, and we’re just getting started. We are truly grateful for all the support we received.”

“What you guys are doing, the experience that you’re giving young people that they can take on into, other roles, not necessarily just car washing, “said Stephen Daniels – Director of Quicklaunch. “ I believe that’s quite important as well, obviously giving them a chance showing them what can be done. I just think it’s really, really good.”

Glen Higson, Director of Business Insight 3, said “Helping younger people give them a start and I think what yor doing is a great job, as it gives them a good chance to move on.”

Genuine Futures CIC is dedicated to breaking down the barriers that many young people face in controlling their futures. By focusing on those who have exited or are transitioning from care, Genuine Futures CIC provides the essential support needed to empower these young individuals to take positive steps forward in their lives.

Genuine Futures team wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the business  community: To everyone who came out to support us, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your generosity is not just washing cars; it’s helping clean up for a brighter genuine future and pave the way for success.

Genuine Futures CIC invites other local businesses and community members who wish to join this growing movement to get in touch. Together, there is no limit to the good we can do and the lives we can change.
