Another Inspiring Session with Genuine Futures’ Boss Your Future Programme,
The latest session of the Genuine Futures’ Boss Your Future programme left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
This time, the focus was on establishing ground rules, understanding values, and identifying skills and strengths, all of which built on the previous session’s theme of crafting a vision and setting goals.
The young participants were actively engaged, with one particularly memorable moment when a young person suggested the ground rule of being “non-judgmental.” This encouraged everyone to think deeply about concepts they hadn’t considered before.
Alicia Blackhouse, a PR executive at Cunard Construction, delivered a thought-provoking presentation that expanded the participants’ horizons, introducing them to the diverse possibilities within the construction industry.
David Morgan, founder of Entrepreneurs Unlocked and a delivery partner of Genuine Futures, inspired the group with his insights on entrepreneurship and self-employment as viable paths to success. His commitment to offering ongoing support throughout the programme was well-received.
Gill, a parent, shared a touching story about her son, Declan, who, despite some initial anxiety, found new motivation. After the session, he expressed a newfound determination to apply for a job with a drain cleaning company—a testament to the positive impact of the programme. “Seeing my son so positive, creating goals for himself with the help of Genuine Futures, is such a great feeling,” Gill remarked.
Sam Smith, a director at Genuine Futures, emphasised the programme’s commitment: “We believe in and support young people and their families.” Mike Alleyne, another director, added, “Our goal is to instill confidence and help participants realise their potential.”
The session concluded with participants feeling inspired and equipped to take actionable steps toward their futures. With such a dedicated team, the next session is eagerly anticipated.
