Bolton’s Biggest Car Wash Event: Our Bolton, Our Community, Our Future
Bolton’s Biggest Car Wash Event will bring residents, businesses and community partners together to celebrate local young people and create practical opportunities for them to build skills, confidence and experience.
On Wednesday 21st October 2026, We Shine Any Car and Genuine Futures CIC will welcome the Bolton community to the Toughsheet Community Stadium from 10am to 4pm. The event is being held in collaboration with, and supported by, Bolton Wanderers in the Community.
Real work, real skills and a chance to shine
We Shine Any Car is a youth-led social enterprise where young people learn by taking part in real work. The car wash is the starting point: young people can practise customer service, communication, teamwork, reliability and problem-solving while contributing to a shared community project.
These practical experiences help young people recognise their strengths, build confidence and make connections with supportive adults, local organisations and employers. For some, it can be a first step towards further learning, training, employment or enterprise. Every young person’s next step is different; creating a welcoming place to try, learn and progress matters.
A community event with a wider purpose
The event is an invitation for people across Bolton to come together. Residents can bring their cars, meet the young people and see the enterprise in action. Businesses and community organisations can talk with the team about fleet vehicle cleaning, mentoring, work experience and ways to contribute to social value locally.
People who cannot attend on the day can still support the work through We Shine Any Car’s weekly community sessions at The White Horse in Harwood, every Thursday from 10am to 4pm. Visitors can also ask the team about the car wash club and Pay It Forward donations, which help create further chances for young people to take part.
