Achieve. Believe. Succeed. – Inspiring the Next Generation Through Lived Experience
Posted on:
At Genuine Futures, we believe that young people don’t just need instruction; they need inspiration.
Through our Meet & Motivate School Speakers Programme, we deliver powerful, real-life assemblies designed to engage students, raise aspirations, and shift mindsets.
Our recent session at Ellesmere Park High School reinforced exactly why this work matters.
Year Assistant Matthew Connolly shared:
“It was brilliant. The story really captured the kids. I could see how engaged they were. Some really positive messages as well, and really relevant to this group.”
When school staff notice genuine engagement in the room, that tells you something important is happening.
Why Lived Experience Matters in Schools
Young people are navigating increasing pressures — academically, socially and emotionally. They are constantly being told what they shouldachieve, but rarely shown what is truly possible.
When students hear real journeys of challenge, resilience and enterprise, it changes the dynamic.
They see:
- That setbacks do not define them
- That confidence can be built
- That background does not determine destination
- That ownership of their future is possible
Authentic storytelling cuts through in a way that slides and statistics simply cannot.
What Is the Achieve. Believe. Succeed. Programme?
Our Achieve. Believe. Succeed. assembly is part of the Genuine Futures Meet & Motivate initiative.
It is designed for secondary schools and aligns with:
- PSHE and personal development
- Careers, education and employability
- Behaviour and engagement strategies
- Whole-school aspiration frameworks
Sessions focus on:
Raising aspiration
Strengthening resilience
Building confidence
Promoting enterprise thinking
Amplifying youth voice
We do not deliver lectures. We deliver conversations.
We do not speak at students. We connect with them.
Supporting Young People Beyond the Assembly Hall
Genuine Futures works with young people aged 15–24 across Bolton and Greater Manchester, particularly those at risk of exclusion, unemployment, or disengagement from education.
Through enterprise-led pathways and practical opportunities, we help young people develop:
- Real employability skills
- Leadership capability
- Confidence in communication
- Purpose and direction
Our assemblies act as a catalyst — opening minds and starting conversations that schools can build upon.
Why Schools Choose Genuine Futures
Schools partner with us because we bring:
- Credible lived experience
- Clear, positive messaging
- Relatable delivery
- Real-world context
- Alignment with school priorities
Most importantly, students leave the session thinking differently about themselves and their future.
And that shift in belief is where change begins.
