Supporting underrepresented young people from across Bolton and beyond

Our founder of Genuine Futures Sam Smith caught up with the founder of Wave Adventure Graham Wood discussing a collaborative approach on working together in supporting underrepresented young people from across Bolton and beyond.
Wave Adventure are a Bolton based charity who are passionate about the outdoors and introducing people to healthy new activities.
With a strong environmental focus, working with under-served communities to make sure those from a wide range of under represented groups can take part.
Wave Adventure organise events with individuals and groups of all ages and abilities.
Using a successful model of high calibre outdoor practitioners and therapists working together our organisation has a big impact on the lives of participants.
Wave Adventure will take you kayaking across Lancashire’s dramatic landscape, or up it through climbing challenges, where you can enjoy the stunning views the North West has to offer. We have group indoor wall climbing in Bolton, Stockport and other local climbing venues. Also, we have outdoor bouldering sessions and go on regular hikes.
The goal is to promote the health and well being of our members by offering fun activities in a supportive environment. Regular participation in sport and leisure activities is proven to not only improve physical health, but have a positive impact on mental and emotional wellbeing too.
Taking part in team sports and group activities can significantly improve fitness, communication skills and build confidence.
Best of all, we can adapt our sessions to your needs so the activity is as gentle or as challenging as you want. Why do we do this – because WAVE Adventure is for everyone!
