Young People Taking the Lead

This year’s #iWillWeek 2025 celebrates the voices and actions of young people across the UK under the theme “What Do You Stand For?”. At Genuine Futures CIC, we stand proudly beside our young leaders as they step forward, take action, and make their voices heard on the issues that matter most — from mental health and homelessness to inequality, opportunity and belonging.

We believe in the power of entrepreneurship to change mindsets and in the potential of every young person to become a changemaker. Through hands-on learning, creativity, and social enterprise, they are not just talking about change — they are leading it.

Youth-Led Social Action in Motion

Enterprise with Purpose
At our youth-led car-valeting social enterprise, We Shine Any Car, young people are running their own business while supporting their community. Every car washed represents self-belief in action — teamwork, communication, and pride in a job well done.

Speaking Truth to Power
Across our Boss Your Future and Young Futures Hub programmes, young people are using their voices to speak truth to power — challenging stereotypes, questioning injustice, and shaping conversations around education, employment, and inclusion.

Collaboration for Community Change
Working with partners including Entrepreneurs Unlocked, Recycle IT, The Scrappers, and HMPasties, young people are designing and delivering projects that show the power of youth social action to create real-world impact.

How the Community Can Support

The community plays a vital role in sustaining youth social action.
By simply using our car-cleaning service at We Shine Any Car (based at The Scrappers in Bolton), local people and businesses can directly invest in young people’s futures.

Every car cleaned funds training, mentoring, and equipment — helping young people build confidence, employment skills, and a sense of belonging.
Join us on Mondays or Thursdays (10 am – 4 pm) for “Car Wash, Coffee, Connection & Conversation” — where enterprise meets empowerment.

What Do You Stand For?

The iWill Movement reminds us that when young people take action, they drive positive change — for themselves, their peers, and their communities.

At Genuine Futures, we stand for:

  • Youth voice and leadership, speaking truth to power.
  • Opportunity and inclusion, so no young person is left behind.
  • Enterprise as empowerment, turning lived experience into leadership.
  • Community connection, where people and purpose come together.

This #iWillWeek, we invite everyone to reflect:
👉 What do you stand for?

Stand for hope. Stand for opportunity. Stand with young people who are ready to shine — because when they’re trusted and supported, they don’t just wash cars…
✨ They change lives.
