IN LOVING MEMORY OF JAIMY HAMM
Posted on:
All our team at Genuine Futures are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jaimy who was our first ever student of Genuine Futures CIC prior to our founding in January 2023 – right up until his passing on Thursday 11th April 2024.
Jaimy sadly lost his battle for life to an unknown infection after falling into a coma and despite all the treatment and care that Jaimy received he never recovered.
Jaimy was a helpful, kind and a great member of the team, and he enjoyed meeting new people. He was an enthusiastic individual who was inspired and excited to learn new skills and then put them into action by providing an excellent car cleaning service.
Being our first ever student of Genuine Futures, Jaimy played a key role in developing and shaping our ‘Unlocking Your Potential Programme’ this programme aimed to provide Jaimy with key skills and entrepreneurship but most recently being involved in the launch of our ‘Big Charity Pop Up Car Wash’ Events.
The aim of this initiative was to develop a commercial car cleaning and detailing service and take it into the business community.
During the programme Jaimy was involved in creating a mock up car cleaning business called ‘Jaimy’s Car Valeting Service’.
The whole purpose of the Big Charity Car Was events was to create awareness of what Genuine Futures does for young people; and to raise enough money to buy a vehicle and to give Jaimy full time employment.
We would then have a blue-print that we could take into other areas and create a future for other young people. Jaimy was excited about this opportunity and really looking forward to being in regular employment.
It is with the generous support and donations of BizSpace, RKMS and Lab Creative giving us the opportunity to use their facilities we have to date taken the ‘Big Charity Pop Up Car Wash’ onto the road supporting young people and providing a service to the business community. We have made such an impact taking our events across Manchester, Hollinwood Oldham, Blackpool, Preston and more recently into Cheadle, Stockport. The positive feedback we have received from both our participants and the business community has been overwhelming.
Using the car cleaning model this initiative helps young people to develop key transferable life skills and this helps them to get a foot onto the ladder and into employment. With this model firmly set in place we are now looking to roll out this initiative into alternative school provision providers, younger offender institutions and we provide a mobile car detailing training service to support young people. Working together with the business community we will bridge the gap and change more lives.
On behalf of all the team at Genuine Futures our heartfelt condolences go out to Jaimy’s family at this sad and difficult time.
Jaimy’s family have asked that instead of flowers if anybody would like to make a donation to Genuine Futures it would be very much appreciated as this will continue to help with the good work that Genuine Futures are doing with young people.
We will always remember Jaimy and the impact he had on us all and we miss him very much.
Genuine Futures would like to share the link below with you of our favourite memories of Jaimy Hamm between January 2023 & March 2024.
We Miss You Jaimy.
